Phlebotomy Techinician - College of Science and Health

	Course Options and Requirements for Certification for Each Option
	Option I: Limited License SKIN PUNCTURES ONLY Requirements for certification:
	20 Hrs. basic didactic instruction and clinical instruction 25 skin punctures are needed to obtain certification
	Option II: Phlebotomy Technician I FULL COURSE Requirements for certification:
	80 Hrs. Didactic (Classroom) 40 Hrs. Clinical Instruction Practicum 50 successful Blood draws 10 skin punctures
	Option III: Phlebotomy Technician I BASIC COURSE RECOMMENDED FOR Medical Assistant Student who has less than 1040 hrs of on the job experience in phlebotomy and has documented proof of completion of 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures within the past 5 years from employer. Requirements for certification:
	minimum of 40 Hrs. didactic No hours of clinical instruction required
	Option IV: Phlebotomy Technician I ADVANCE COURSE Student who has completed 1040 hrs or more of on the job experience as a phlebotomist and has documented proof of 50 venipuncture and 10 skin punctures within the past 5 years from an employer. Requirements for certification:
	20 Hrs. advance didactic required No hours of clinical instruction required.
