Earn an Associate of Science Degree in Pharmacy Technology!

 

Role of a Pharmacy Technician

 
  • Help licensed pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients
  • Perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication for patients, such as counting tablets and labeling bottles
  • Refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist
  • Work in various settings with responsibilities and duties dependent upon state rules and regulations.
  • May have added responsibilities in certain settings (i.e., hospitals or long-term care pharmacies) such as reviewing patient charts and profiles to provide adequate pharmacy services through medication and delivery to the inpatient wards.
 

Accreditation
Drew’s Pharmacy Technology program is accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP).
