Accreditation
Charles R. Drew University’s Substance Abuse Counseling certificate program and Associate degree program in Community Health with an emphasis in Alcohol and Other Drug Studies are approved education providers by the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors www.caadac.org , the Commission for Alcohol and Drug Counselors Education Program (CADCEP), and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Graduates of the certificate or Associate degree program will be eligible to have their portfolios expedited rather than challenged by the CAADAC review board. The curriculum also suits the needs of students interested in seeking credentials from other credentialing bodies. Please contact the Program Director for further information regarding credentialing options.

The Substance Abuse Counseling/Alcohol & Other Drug Studies program has been developed to meet the new State of California addiction counselor certification regulations, which require anyone who provides counseling services in alcohol and other drug treatment programs to become certified. (Please see www.adp.ca.gov for more information on the state regulations). |
