Dr. Gowans, an alumnus from the 1993 King/Drew Medical Center’s Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery’s residency program received his Doctorate of Dental Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry in 1988 and in 1996, Dr. Gowans became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. |

Although he is in the midst of two research projects (analyzing human papillomavirus and human immunodeficiency virus tissue samples), he maintains a successful and thriving private practice; further demonstrating his commitment to improving service through research and participation. |
