  About Us
 
The major responsibility of the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is to provide attending coverage for the Medical Internal Care Unit (MICU) and Pulmonary Consultation services. House staff trainees and students rotate through Pulmonary Medicine and MICU on a regular basis. Extensive teaching rounds are made in MICU and Pulmonary Consult services. Residents and students are taught to evaluate and manage critically ill patients. They learn variety of procedures such as, central lines, Swan Ganz catheterization and interpretation of critical care data.
   
  The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine has 2 full-time and 1 part-time faculty member. Each of the three faculty members is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and/or Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Zopey is presently the Acting Chief of Pulmonary Medicine and the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit, Respiratory Therapy Services and the Arterial Blood Gas Laboratory.
