Dr. Funnye received his B.A. Degree in 1970 from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and his M.D. degree in 1975, from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Funnye completed his Internal Medicine Residency Training here at King/Drew Medical Center in 1978. He became Board Certified in 1985. He holds professional memberships in the American College of Physicians (Fellow), the National Medical Association, the Society of General Internal Medicine, and the Charles Drew Medical Society. He serves as the site Director for the National Minority AIDS Education and Training Center and the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center. Dr. Funnye has been affiliated with the Department of Internal Medicine for approximately for 14 years and currently serves as Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine. |
