Dr. Paul Kelly received his B.A. degree from Brown University in 1960 and his M.D. degree from Howard University in 1965. He completed his internship at Harper Hospital and Dermatology residency training at Henry Ford Hospital, both in Detroit, Michigan. In 1973, Dr. Kelly became board certified in Dermatology

And in 1978, he was certified in Dermatopathology. He holds professional memberships in many organizations, the main ones of which are the American Dermatologic Association (President 1998-1999), the American Academy of Dermatology, the Association of Professors in Dermatology (President, 1998-2000), the National Medical Association (Editor-in-Chief of their Journal, 1997-), the Society of Investigative Dermatology and the Metropolitan Los Angeles Dermatologic Association (President, 1987-1988). He started his academic career as and instructor and research fellow in Dermatology at Brown University. Dr. Kelly has been affiliated with the Division of Dermatology, Department of Internal Medicine at King-Drew Medical Center since 1973 and Chief of the Division of Dermatology since 1975. He has acquired a national and international reputation on skin diseases in blacks with special interest in keloids, acne keloidalis, and pseudofolliculitis barbae with over a 100 presentations and publications on these subjects.

In 2005, Dr. Kelly received "The Best Doctors Award for 2005- 2 006" . His certificate reads: "Best Doctors, Information When It Matters Most, This is to certify that A. Paul Kelly, MD Has Been Selected
