Residency Training
The Dermatology Residency Program was approved by the ACGME in 1975. The first residents started in July of 1975 and we had our first graduation in June of 1978. Since inception, we have been approved for 2 residents per year and 3 years of training. In 2005, the Dermatology residency program has been re-accredited for full 5 years of training.

The Division selects two residents per year through the National Resident Matching Program. Most of the didactic and clinical training takes place at King-Drew Medical Center. On Tuesday mornings, the King-Drew Dermatology residents attend the UCLA’s Dermatology Grand Rounds and basic science conferences. In addition they also go to Dr Leo Indianer’s office for a weekly dermatology-pathology session

  Rotators

Two to four week rotations are offered to residents from other services (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine), medical students, and physician assistant students. The maximum number of rotators that we can take at one time is four.
