  DIVISION OF CARDIOLOGY

  About Us

The Division of Cardiology strives for excellence in cardiac care, superior educational experience
for the graduate and postgraduate students and quality clinical research. It provides direct clinical care for all patients admitted to the Coronary Intensive Care Unit. It is also responsible for handling consultation requests for adult patients with known or suspected cardiac disease throughout the acute hospital, the trauma center as well as patients admitted to the acute psychiatric unit. The Division operates three weekly Cardiology Clinics at the King-Drew Medical Center and one at Hubert H. Humphrey Comprehensive Health Center on Wednesday afternoons. We are also responsible for both outpatient and inpatient evaluation of patients with Echocardiography,
Exercise Stress Testing, 24 Hour Holter Monitoring, and Electrocardiography. In our biplane
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory we perform all invasive diagnostic procedures and also
implant permanent pacemakers.
