Commencement 2010 Overview

Dear Members of the Graduating Class of 2010!

Congratulations on the achievement of your degree and/or certificate from Charles Drew University.  The 26th Annual Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. on the University campus.  The ceremony will consist of the conferral of degrees and certificates in the College of Medicine and College of Science and Health.

We ask that graduates report to the University campus, with their regalia, by 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the Commencement Ceremony.
College of Medicine – Graduates are asked to report to the Student Affairs area in the Cobb Medical Education Building.
College of Science and Health – Graduates should report to the Keck Lecture Hall. 

Family and friends will be allowed to enter and be seated in the tent area around 9:15 a.m.  Accommodations for elderly persons and persons with physical disabilities are available by requests.  Requests are limited and can be made by contacting Mike Scott in the Academic Senate Office at (323) 563-5978.  Requests must be received by no later than 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010. Please note, that the University can not provide, loan or rent wheelchairs for guests with special needs. 

COMMENCEMENT  PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
Family members and guests may take photographs/videos during the ceremony, however due to logistical reasons we must request that all aisles be kept clear throughout the ceremony.  There are designated areas where photos and videos can be taken.

Photography
Innovative Photographers is the official photographer for the Commencement Ceremony.  Photographs will be available to view on-line one week after graduation.  You will be available to purchase at that time. Contact information for the photographer is as follows:

• Student Regalia Order Form Order forms are in triplicate and must be completed in blue or black ink. Forms are available in the Deans’ Office in the College of Science and Health and College of Medicine. Payment is due at the time your order is placed. Orders must be placed by April 21
