Clinical & Community Programs

The Academic Senate of Charles Drew University has established a Clinical & Community Programs Committee composed of faculty, students and community representatives in order to address a broad range of community issues and/or concerns as they relate to University academic policy. Our overall goals are:

  1. To be knowledgeable of community concerns and/or issues
  2. To utilize our expertise in preventive health, human services and community participatory research to ensure that the University has appropriate or planned academic and community service programs
  3. To proactively address and ameliorate any community concerns and issues which may be impacting the community-at-large
  4. To provide a means for the community to give feedback to the University

The Clinical & Community Programs Committee is here to

  1. Serve the community-at-large
  2. To educate the community about the numerous health-related services and research programs being administered, implemented, and evaluated by University faculty, staff and students.

The Clinical & Community Programs Committee meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 4:30 PM on campus at Charles Drew University. If community residents would like to learn more about special projects and/or activities being planned or implemented by this committee, please visit the website www.cdrewu.edu or call the Academic Senate office at (323) 563-5978.
The Committee on Clinical and Community Programs oversees all clinical and other community-service programs that the University has established, approved, or assigned academic responsibilities. Besides recommending policies as it sees fit to the Council, Administration, and Trustees, the Committee shall seek ways to enable and encourage community members to sound effective alarms in reaction to poor performance and unmet needs.
