Benefits

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science provide benefits eligible employees with various programs as part of their total compensation. Some of these programs are inherent with the employee’s position and others are optional at the election of the employee. The composition and enrollment period for these programs change from time to time. Therefore, it is prudent for all employees to stay informed concerning the current status of these programs.

The information contained on these pages is for employees and prospective employees of Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science only. Employees or prospective employees of CDU should contact the Department of Human Resource for benefit information.

Eligibility:
You may enroll in the Charles Drew University’s Employee Benefits Program if you are a Regular or Conditional employee working a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Welfare Plans:
In addition to Health plans, CDU offers its employees an array of Welfare plans: Legal Insurance, Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, Dependent Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Flexible Spending Accounts for Dependent Care (a.k.a. DepCare) and Health Care Expenses.


Health Plans

Retirement Plans 
CDU offers UC employees a supplemental retirement savings plan 403(b) with TIAA-CREF.
