Charles R. Drew University Honors Benefactors with Distinguished Donor Recognition Award

March 20, 2006 --- Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, in recognition of corporate and foundation leaders who have displayed significant financial support, will honor their distinguished donors with a reception. |
|

|

| |
As a centerpiece, of the evening festivities which took place on on March 24, 2006, the University unveiled its new Distinguished Donor Wall featuring the Circle of Supporters. Those corporations
and foundations selected for this honor now have their names permanently displayed as a tribute
to their efforts of integrating philanthropy as a key part of their mission, while serving the needs of others. |

"We wanted to do something special to thank those individuals who have generously donated their time, talent and resources to advance the mission of Drew University,” says Randall S. Foster, Vice President of Development, External Affairs and Administration for Charles Drew University. "We feel that this wonderful memorial serves as a daily reminder to all who visit Drew of the important contributions donors have made to the education of medical students and to medical research." |

For 40 years, Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science has played an important role in building and maintaining a significant relationship between the University and the community that it serves, as it trains the next generation of qualified physicians and health care professionals, committed to providing care to underserved communities on a global basis. It is through the assistance of major corporations that Drew strives to make a difference through its health education programs which aid in closing the gap on health disparities through cutting-edge research, professional education and patient care. |

Corporations having made major donations received Distinguished Donor honors as the
University’s Circle of Supporters. The evening’s honorees were: American Honda Foundation and American Honda Corporation, The California Endowment, Toyota/Lexus, Muse Codero Chen, Northrop Grumman Foundation, Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer Health Solutions, UniHealth Foundation and WellPoint Foundation. Corporations who have made significant contributions in support of Drew University were also be recognized as members of the President/Chairman’s Circle of Supporters. |
