Daphne Calmes, MD appointed Associate Dean for Student Affairs College of Medicine
 
     
  Daphne Calmes, MD has been appointed as  the Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the College
of Medicine at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science. The appointment is effective   Monday June 19, 2006.
 
     
  Dr. Calmes received her BA  and her MD degree  both from the University of California at UCLA.
Dr. Calmes completed her Pediatric Residency Training at Drew University. She completed a
Child Development Fellowship in the Pediatric Department in 1989 and joined the Drew faculty.
In 1996, she completed a Primary Care/Health Services Research Fellowship and received a Masters of Health Services Research from the UCLA School of Public Health. Dr. Calmes has been
a member of the Department of Pediatrics for approximately fifteen years and  currently serves as the Pediatric Clerkship Director.  She has served as a member of the Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee, the Medical Student Promotions Committee, the Primary Care and the Drew Admissions Committee. Dr, Calmes has been the recipient of the Most Supportive Drew Faculty member Award by eight graduating classes and the UCLA Excellence in Medical Education in 2002.
